Lightburn Consultants is a field-first inspection firm built on experience. Our Founder: Dea L Allen
As a Master of Special Inspection with over 17 years of experience in the field. Her career began in 2008 with the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans, where she spent a decade serving as both a mechanical and civil engineering inspector. In a city defined by its infrastructure challenges, she developed a sharp eye for detail, a deep respect for the craft, and a reputation for showing up prepared, adaptable, and focused. After ten years in public service, Dea made a pivotal decision to join the Operating Engineers Local 12 and complete their inspection apprenticeship program in Southern California. This was more than a career shift—it was a recommitment to her profession. The apprenticeship gave structure to the skills she had honed in the field and introduced a new level of certification and recognition. She emerged from the program with several ICC certifications, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Since then, Dea has contributed to some of California’s most demanding projects, including large-scale solar developments, Department of Defense facilities, and multi-billion-dollar commercial builds. Her experience is broad, but her approach is consistent: lead with clarity, uphold the highest standards, and earn trust through results. Lightburn Consultants LLC was founded as a reflection of that philosophy. Under Dea’s leadership, the firm delivers inspection services with precision, flexibility, and a personal investment in every project. As a certified MBE, WBE, and LGBTBE business, Lightburn stands for excellence, inclusion, and the power of showing up as your full self in the work.
